He aligns the whole Information Technology in the company at METRO's corporate goals (IT-Strategy) and is also responsible for purchasing the required hard- and software and IT services for the METRO Group (IT-Procurement). Furthermore he cares for the search, selection and implementation of new IT innovations (Research and Innovation).
Since mid-2002, Dr. Gerd Wolfram, who holds a doctorate degree in business administration, has been managing one of the most innovative projects of the METRO Group: The Future Store Initiative. The initiative was launched by the METRO Group and renowned partner companies. With the METRO Group Future Store Initiative modern technologies and systems are advanced and tested under real-live conditions.
He is also a member of national and international committees which promote the standardization of logistics and merchandise management processes in the context of radio frequency identification (RFID). At the international standardization organizations EPCglobal and GS1 Germany he represents the METRO Group in several project groups. Dr. Wolfram also leads the research group Information and Communication Technologies (IKT) at the European retail representation EuroCommerce.

Director of EPC Strategy and Global Transportation Systems for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Simon Langford's initial focus has been leveraging the collaborative benefits of the EPC which has resulted in improved product availability for Wal-Mart's customers and additional suppliers for both suppliers and Wal-Mart. Simon has also been collaborating with operations and suppliers to ensure the use of the technology is operationalized within Wal-Mart and SAM's clubs. Simon and his team have also been working with standards groups (EPC Global) and technology providers to develop global standards and innovative solutions.
A native of England, Simon earned a degree in business studies at Huddersfield University in the United Kingdom and Certificate of Food Retailing at the Bristol Retailing Academy. Simon worked at ASDA for seven and a half years before moving to the US and has worked in the retail industry for 21 years. In 2005 Simon was awarded the Sam M Walton award of excellence for leadership, the highest honor awarded at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Dr. Samson Tam graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1986 with a Bachelor degree of Science (Hons), and later was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently Chairman of Group Sense (International) Limited ("GSL") responsible for overseeing the overall corporate strategy and building up of business and technology partnerships. In 1993, GSL was listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Its product range consists mainly of electronic dictionaries (Instant-Dict), Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and Smart Phones (Xplore). In 1997, GSL won the first "Hong Kong Award for Industry: Technological Achievement" awarded by the HKSAR Government. Its brand name, "Instant-Dict" has become a household name in the Greater China region and is recognized as one of the "Superbrands" in Hong Kong.
In 1992, Dr. Tam was awarded the "Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong" in recognition of his business achievement and contribution to the local industrial sector. He was also named one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" in 1997.
With extensive experience in product development and research, Dr. Tam strives to promote technological cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong, contributing significantly to the local Information Technology industry. Presently, Dr. Tam is the Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, a member of Election Committee Member (Information Technology Subsector), a member of General Committee of Federation of Hong Kong Industries as well as Vice Chairman of its PRD Council. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee on the Promotion of Hong Kong's Innovation and Technology of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee, the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee and a trustee of United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Chris Adcock is President of EPCglobal Inc, the global organization leading the drive to create common standards for the use of the Electronic Product Code (EPC) and the EPCglobal Network. EPCglobal is a user driven organization, working across multiple industries and contributes to the broad scale adoption of EPCglobal standards for organizations throughout the world.
Mr Adcock has a proven track record of leadership within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry. He has held a series of senior management positions in Europe for The Gillette Company, a global market leader in several consumer product categories. His most recent position was as General Manager of the Nordic Region for The Gillette Company. A native of the United Kingdom, Mr Adcock's career to date has included extensive experience in international markets, working within Europe, East Africa and the Middle East. He has successfully developed and implemented strategies aimed at growing market share, reducing costs and improving ways to serve customers. Since September 2004 Mr Adcock has led the global activities of EPCglobal during a period of rapid development and international expansion as companies around the world have worked to take advantage of this exciting and new enabling technology.
Between 2001 and 2004 he held the position of Chairman of the AIM Trade and Industry Committee (AIM is the association of branded goods manufacturers in Europe). Mr Adcock holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.

He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, and received education both in Hong Kong and UK. After the initial training with Hong Kong Electric Co Ltd, he joined EMSD of Hong Kong goverment to work at the Kai Tak Airport before leaving for working at BAA of UK for more than 8 years. He then join AA since 1997 for the setting up of the then Engineering and Maintenance Department and gradually rising to the existing position responsible for Procurement; the maintenance and improvement works of all non IT AA facilities.

Greg Edds is the Worldwide RFID Program Lead for HP. He is responsible for global RFID strategy for HP business supply chains. He also manages the HP RFID Core Team comprised of key internal technical leaders and program managers. Greg has close to 30 years of technical and management experience in Test Engineering, Software Management, Manufacturing Operations, and Program Management in various supply chain operations.
Greg has been focused on RFID technology for 5 years now. He was the program manager for the initial RFID proof of concept project conducted by HP in 2002. Since then, Greg has managed several other RFID projects to revolutionize supply chain processes utilizing RFID at HP operations worldwide.

Dr. Chris Diorio is Chairman and CTO at Impinj, Inc., located in Seattle Washington. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, as a co-Chair of the EPCglobal Hardware Action Group, and as a Project co-Editor for ISO 18000-6. Dr. Diorio received his Ph.D. from Caltech in 1997, and has over 20 years of experience in semiconductor and radio engineering. I was studying the Production and Industrial Engineering in Hong Kong Polytechnics and started my career as Industrial Engineer in one of the finest shirts manufacturers in HK. I acquired the Bachelor of Commerce degree in James Cook University of North Queenlands, Australia after my promotion to Industrial Engineering Manager.
I was seconded to work as Engineering Manager and stationed at Shenzhen in 1997. The main job responsibility was to set up a new factory and most non-production functions were under my supervision.
Then, I was moved to the Philippines operation in 2003 for the set up of the new factory with Dipping Wrinkle Free process.
I joined Esquel Enterprises Ltd in 2005 and I am the Director of Corp. Technical Engineering Department for Esquel Group.
I am focused on all aspects of technical and engineering matters in garment factories within the group especially the cost savings projects initiated every year.
As I worked in different departments/functions and involved different range of jobs in the past years, the valuable experience lets me to have a strong base to overcome the challenges.
For my personal -- being a married man, I love my family. My wonderful wife gives me unlimited support. My lovely daughters give me energy to move on towards my goals.

John Cunningham is the Director of RFID and Wireless for Motorola's Enterprise Mobility Business in Asia Pacific and has overall responsibility for sales and marketing for those product lines. With a primary focus on accelerating broader adoption of the technologies, he has been actively involved in creating an extended partner ecosystem with leading global and local Systems Integrators, Software Vendors, other equipment manufacturers, standards and governmental organisations to help bring to market industry solutions that will enable companies to deploy RFID and Wireless technologies more efficiently and cost effectively.
Mr. Cunningham has also been responsible for deployment activities for many of Motorola's key reference projects in the region including Hong Kong and Beijing Airports, China Post, Thailand Customs, Hewlett-Packard and many others. Through real world implementation experience he has gained tremendous insight on both the technical and the business application of the technologies and spends a large part of his time conducting industry training and consulting with prospective customers to help them with their RFID and Wireless initiatives.
A 17 year veteran of the hi-tech industry, he has been actively involved in launching and growing technology businesses in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa regions with Fortune 500 companies including Hewlett-Packard, Verizon Communications, and Getronics Solutions. Ishizawa is currently co-chair of the Transportation & Logistics Services Industrial Action Group (in EPCglobal), where he promotes Asian involvement. He hosted the 1st official TLS IAG meeting, which took place in Kobe in January 2006 and attracted 110 participants from around the world. He led the first official global pilot project, which studied RFID-supported ocean transport from Hong Kong to Japan, and is now designing phase 2 of that test, which includes air transport from China to the US.
Since 2004, he has worked at Monohakobi Technology Institute (MTI), NYK Line's in-house R&D division, which has produced new logistics services that adopt RFID technologies, mainly warehouse-management and materials-handling services for the automotive and electronic-goods industries. MTI now uses 1.5 million IC tags in Europe and Asia, and supports Japanese governmental projects, including the drive to standardize international radio-frequency laws.

His responsibilities in DKSH include developing logistics business and managing in-house and third party logistics.
During the past 16 years with DKSH, he managed to establish the container haulage fleet, centralized the logistics operation under one roof for Hong Kong operations, and built the first distribution centre for the Company in Shanghai.

Peter Friess is responsible for the management of major European research projects addressing networked enterprises and Radio Frequency Identification. Being member of the European Commission's Task Force on RFID, he focuses on security, privacy and governance aspects of RFID applications and on international co-operation. Prior to his present activities, he worked as senior e-business consultant at IBM for large companies and SME, as IT-manager at Philips Semiconductors and as researcher for business reengineering at BIBA. He graduated in aerospace technology and holds a Ph.D. in engineering with emphasis on business reengineering and project management.

Hao Min is currently research director of Auto-ID Labs at Fudan University. He is also professor of ASIC & Systems State Key Laboratory, Fudan University.
Hao got his Ph.D degree from the department of material science, Fudan University in 1991 and then served as an associate professor in the ASIC & Systems State Key Laboratory of Fudan University. From 1995 to 1998, he worked as visiting associate professor in the department of electrical engineering, Stanford University, USA focusing on low power mixed signal VLSI design especially on the design and characterizing of CMOS image sensors. At the same time, he worked as a consultant for several semiconductor companies.
From 1998, he served as professor and director of ASIC & Systems State Key Laboratory, Fudan University and worked on the smart card and RFID chip technology. He started the Auto-ID Center China in 2002 and served as research director.
Dr. Min also served as the general manager of Shanghai Huahong IC Co. Ltd from 1998 to 2006.3. He successfully developed the first contactless smart card in China which is used in Shanghai public transportation system. He is also the leading designer for the RFID chip used in "National Identification Card", which is one of the largest RFID application project in the world. He also served as the VP for Huahong International in charge of smart card business.
Dr. Min's research areas include VLSI architecture, RF and mixed signal IC design, digital signal processing, image processing, etc. He has published more than 50 papers in journals and conferences. He is the inventor of more than ten patents (pending).

Stan Drobac is Avery Dennison's Vice President, RFID Strategy and Planning. He joined the company in 2002 and has led the development of its RFID program. In his current position, Stan coordinates RFID activities across the Corporation, working closely with the operating divisions and the Avery Research Center. He also leads the identification and acquisition of new RFID-related technologies and companies to add to the Avery Dennison portfolio.
Stan has an extensive background in advanced electronics and information technologies, as well as sales, marketing and business management. Before joining Avery Dennison, Stan worked as an independent consultant and held the position of vice president, Sales and Marketing, for Alien Technology in Morgan Hill, California. Prior to that, he served in key marketing, technical and operational roles at Flextronics; nCHIP, Inc.; Advanced Micro Devices; Fairchild Semiconductor, Inc.; and Honeywell Information Systems.
Stan received his bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his master's degree in business administration from Harvard University.

Mr. Raymond Teh joined GXS as Vice President of Asia Pacific in July 2006. Based in GXS's regional headquarters in Hong Kong, Mr. Teh is responsible for the daily operation of offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Korea, Singapore and Australia. As a Vice President of Asia Pacific, one of his top priorities is to drive the growth in the key markets in the region, and develop new and fast growing markets such as China and Korea.
Prior to GXS, Raymond was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific Operations for Sybase, based in Shanghai, China. At Sybase, Mr. Teh led a network of 16 offices in 9 countries and over 500 employees in sales and marketing, professional services, customer service and support and solution centers across the Asia Pacific region.
Mr. Teh has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry and has strong sales and operation experience in various countries and region including Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and the US. Prior to Sybase, he served for eight years at i2 Technologies, as President, Asia Pacific. Previously, Mr. Teh served as vice president for Asia Pacific at Datalogix, American Software and SAP.
